The Bronze Citadel is a massive bronze dome in the Duumal deserts and is the center of civilization for Devils in the first layer of The Ten Hells.
About
The Bronze Citadel is a massive bronze dome a few miles in diameter. It is the closest thing Duumal has to a city, but is deserving of such a name. The hull of the dome is old and falling apart due to its age and the cruel weather of Duumal and its deserts. Inside there is little order, any buildings built together are more akin to shanty towns then an organized city. Raucous devils walk the street eager to pick fights as Hell Hound packs roam the dark alleyways looking for the next poor soul to feed upon. Nooses hang from every corner above saloons where fiends drink their days away.
What little order there is in the citadel is maintained by a small force of infernal militia men armed with infernal rifles and commanded by a fat and vile Amnizu, Governor Solme, a puppet ruler for the Bronze Citadel's true master, the Pit Fiend Bel.
Most come to the Bronze Citadel to view and partake in the Infernal Rodeo, a massive competition where Devils and fiends of all types can try for gold and glory, only to be crushed under the hoof of an infernal bull.
History
Legends say that when Hell was new, Asmodeus himself created the Bronze Citadel, rising it up from the infernal wastes. Since then it has weathered the terrible conditions of Duumal, from the never-ending Blood War, to the great flood from The First Infernal Emergence. It was formerly ruled by the Pit Fiend Bel outright when he was the archduke of Duumal in the ages when Duumal was called Avernus, but ever since his loss of that title he was unable to rule it outright anymore, though he found his ways.
After The River Styx dried up in 925 PR, Bel tightened his hold over the Bronze Citadel and took a more direct position in leading it.
Notable Places
The Infernal Rodeo
A rodeo where devils show their skill at riding, roping, and wrestling Infernal Bulls. Almost always ends in a massacre. Every now again new monsters would be introduced to the rodeo, including demons to be slain, bound elementals, captured dragons, or even once every ten years, the three-headed dog Cerberus. Many devils will send in their slaves or servants to fight on their behalf, hoping to gain reward by betting either for, or against them. Newcomers to the Citadel would often try to prove themselves by competing in the rodeo.
The Rumor Market
The Rumor Market is one of the premier locations for trading secrets and information in all the planes. Devils as well as fey, fiends, warlocks, and more would come from all over to sell and purchase information of all kinds. If you need to know something, there is a god chance someone in the Rumor Market can sell it to you, but knowledge here always comes at a high price. The Rumor Market is run by a scheming Rakshasa named Kharima..
The Belhold
The Belhold is the barracks and governing office for the citadel's infernal authority. It is a large red stone tower with an infernal forge at its base. At the top is the office of Govenor Solme, the commander of the Bronze Citadel militia. There is a secret invisible top floor to the tower where Bel's office is, the true ruler of the citadel.
The Ember Rest
The Ember Rest is a large inn managed by a pact-bound Erinyes named Arava.
