Davenwood is a small town between the shores and the city of Ravel in Southern Osugbo.

About[edit | edit source]

A small farming town that is known for its local tavern, The Copper Still, by travelers making their way to Ravel.

This is also the birthplace of the Choeru paladin, Oswald, and the home of the Bastion of the New Dawn.

History[edit | edit source]

Davenwood was founded in 103 PR by Wobbly Whiskers when he and a group of woodland-folk found fertile land in between the city of Ravel and the ocean. With its proximity to an already established trade line, they put together the foundation of a small travelers' town, with Wobbly's tavern, "The Copper Still", being the main focal point. Wobbly wanted to provide a safe-haven for those weary from the road who needed on last rest before finishing their journey to Ravel. His commitment to sustaining the town during its early years resulted in a monument, erected in his honor, during the towns bicentennial celebration.

The townsfolk of Davenwood sought to be self-sustaining and quiet, becoming farmers who used their produce and knowledge of distilling to produce the ale and spirits featured at the Copper Still. Over the years, the town has grown little by little, with mostly like-minded rural folk opting for the quiet life, whereas most of their visitors opted for the hustle and bustle of the big city. The people of Davenwood preferred it that way, it kept any issues of politics and violence away from their humble abodes.

Notable Places[edit | edit source]

The Copper Still - The first major building of Davenwood, established by Woobly Whiskers in 104 PR. This is the icon of the city, offering cheap room and drink to travelers making their way to Ravel.

The Bastion of the New Dawn - A bastion started by Oswald, during the blowt invasion in Ravel.

Notable Events[edit | edit source]

The Fantasial Freeze[edit | edit source]

 466 PR

Davenwood, being a farming town was heavily impacted by the frost that swept the entirety of Quelmar, killing a large portion of crops and livestock in the following months. Things seemed most dire during those months, but with a good relationship with Ravel, the town was able to survive with minimal casualties thanks to a few key resupply runs, including one by Oswald, which occurred just as the freeze broke, and allowed the town to start recovering.

The Great Fire of Davenwood[edit | edit source]

466 PR

On a quiet afternoon, a catastrophic wild fire started via questionable means on the roads between Ravel and Davenwood. The fire quickly grew out of control and without warning, swept through Davenwood, burning down nearly half the residencies of the town. Although no casualties were recorded during the fire, the townspeople, faced were with an even more uncertain future after just barely scraping by during the Freeze.

Left wondering how to pick up the pieces of their town to start anew, it just so happened that a resupply run, headed by Oswald and his companions, Ben, Jaxzo'llan, Jollyfist, Mundy, and En, showed up with provisions to help feed and restock the grain elevators of the town. With a glimmer of hope, and some lifted spirits thanks to the efforts of Jollyfist, En, and Mundy, the townsfolk were invigorated to continue to rebuilt.

Oswald, seeing the plight of his neighbors, and after coming face to face with a enemy both foreign and familiar, decided he could no longer leave the town to fend for itself with such uncertainty in the world. With the help of the town, he established the Bastion of the New Dawn, a place of refuge for the town during trying times.

Oswald also informed the townsfolk of the Blowt, and how they needed to now dispose of any deceased creature quickly and entirely before it could reanimate, and spread through the town.
