Queen Festivia is the Archfey ruler of the Court of Festivals and Games. She loves to force mortals and fey alike to compete in games of all kinds, from common childrens' games to competitions of death and chance.

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

Queen Festivia is a dazzling figure draped in layers of vibrant silks, ribbons, and theatrical frills. Her slender form towers in striking thigh-high boots and flowing capes, crowned by a whimsical beaked mask. She moves with dancer-like grace, every motion deliberate, every pose a scene. Wherever she goes, confetti and color seem to follow her, with carnival music always there to celebrate her arrival.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Queen Festivia thrives on spectacle. She adores challenges, competitions, and high-stakes games of all kinds, whether they be riddles, races, or elaborate chaotic tournaments. She prizes creativity over brute force and believes that the true worth of a person is revealed when they are caught between triumph and humiliation. Though she has no true malice, she is capricious as her contests can veer from delightful to deadly without warning. While she admires skillful play, her desire for drama and spectacle will commonly overtake her as she will toss new chaotic elements into her games on a whim. She cannot resist turning the mundane into chaotic displays and common encounters into incredible games. She refuses to allow for even a moment of boredom or quiet in her presence.

She is commonly seen either shuffling a deck of cards or petting her pet rabbit, the Magnificent Dante.

The Court of Festivals and Games[edit | edit source]

Queen Festivia and her court derive their magic from pure elation and celebration. They thrive on the thrill of competition, the rapture of performance, and the joy of risk. Play is not just a part of life, to them, play is life.

Her court travels across The Feywild like a carnival adrift on the wind. One day, the Court of Festivals and Games may manifest in a meadow of singing flowers; the next, atop a war torn plateau; the next, in the plaza of another Archfey’s domain, uninvited yet impossible to remove without joining the festivities. Her arrival is heralded by distant laughter, bright music with no source, and petals or confetti drifting through the air.

Many cannot resist being pulled into the festivities, whether they wanted to join originally or not. Mortals who find themselves amongst the court will find themselves surrounded by joy and whimsey before being whisked away to participate in games of all kinds. Some emerge victorious winners, earning boons and blessings from the court, while others leaving with less then they originally came in with, or worse, forced to play another game. The court does not tolerate cheaters of any kind, as cheating is a quick way to become a permeant unwilling fixture of the games for the rest of time.

In Festivia's court, illusions come to life, alive as any flesh and blood mortal or fey. The court is populated by many of these living illusions as well as colorful jesters, observant referees, cheerful game masters, and other fey from courts beyond here to watch the festivities.
