Emerald Dragon

Durzibethinus is the Emerald Thane of Sardior, the paragon of Emerald Dragons following their reemergence in the realm.

Emerald Dragons are a type of Gemstone Dragon with extraordinary psychic abilities that make them masters of illusions and trickery.

Appearance

The Emerald Dragon has a lithe, serpentine-like body ideal for tunneling into underground caverns and slithering through dense forests. At first glance, they are sometimes mistaken for one of their Chromatic Green cousins—but they can be identified by their lustrous, emerald scales which undulate across their slender form and are caught adrift in their psionic aura once shed…congealing into brilliant, spiny shards that float along their back and head to suggest horns as an added intimidation display.

Abilities

The Emerald Dragon possesses a psychic disruption breath weapon which can disorient or shred the mind of anyone unlucky enough to be licked by its flames. Their reclusive temperament does not dull their keen curiosity, so they will often study the outside world by scrying from the safety of their lairs…either through fire originating from their lairs or with any other means they have access to. Amongst other Gemstone Dragon types, they bond most easily with Sapphire Dragons as they will perform reconnaissance to support the battle-minded Sapphire's war plans when faced with a perceived mutual threat.

Feredemius

The progenitor of Emerald Dragons—all emerald beings are said to share his Feredemic blood—he served Sardior on the Ruby Court prior to the god's shattering in Prehistory and eventually fell into a destructive, hedonistic existence…resulting in his imprisonment beneath the Northern Snowy Mountains where he became corrupted by underground rifts leaking Shadowfell energies and took up the mantle of The One That Waits.

Durzibethinus

The Dragonborn-turned-Dragon who ascended to become the new Emerald Thane as a consequence of his role in The Battle of Five Lights, a fight which saw the defeat of the corrupted Feredemius and the resurrection of Sardior—the god of Gemstone Dragons.

Smargarg

A young Emerald Dragon who had set up his lair in a subterranean temple—built to Feredemius in ancient times—also using it to operate a hatchery for Gemstone Dragon eggs.
