The Steelhand Colossus was a mountain sized construct built by the dwarven ancestors of the Steelhand Clan for the sole purpose of protecting Osugbo from dragons. After being forgotten and lost, the Steelhand Colossus would be rediscovered years later by its creators' descendants, and instead of being used to fight dragons was deployed against neighboring cities in Realm War II.

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

The Steelhand Colossus is a massive construct made of metal and stone, towering over mortals and cities alike. Its body was carved out of the mountains of Osugbo by dwarven smiths and inscribed with prayers to the dwarven god Moradin, before being fitted with armor made of pure adamantine. The Steelhand Colossus stands high above the horizon, its build stocky and sturdy like that of its dwarven makers, glowing with a divine blue holy light as it traverses entire forests and mountain ranges in a single step. Its legs are coated in dirt and earth and what few scars it has across its steel casing come from the ferocious jaws and claws of only the strongest of dragons.

Personality[edit | edit source]

The Steelhand Colossus is utterly mindless, and can only be controlled by a dwarf or devout of Moradin who knows the correct incantations and prayers. Even then, the best they can usually do is give the colossus simple commands and point it in a certain direction. But even if it is commanded otherwise, the Steelhand Colossus' number one priority is to protect Osugbo from dragons. So if it ever sees a dragon, its will ignore its current orders to hunt the dragon down and destroy it.

History[edit | edit source]

After the end of the Holy War, the dwarves who of the Steelhand Clan knew they had to be ready if dragons ever returned. For over one hundred years the dwarves worked on the colossus, transforming the stone of an entire mountain into its body. Dwarven priests of Moradin inscribed prayers into the stone in order to give it life, and the greatest smiths of the age crafted the colossus armor made of pure adamantine. After its construction, the colossus laid dormant, waiting for the day when Osugbo needed it most.

But in 200 PR, a mysterious calamity forced the dwarves of the clan to flee their ancestral home of Steelhand Hall, leaving behind not just their home, but their memories of the colossus as well. For centuries the Steelhand Colossus would remain hidden beneath Osugbo, even as the War of Many Names began and dragons ravaged the realm. It wasn't until 883 PR when an earthquake struck the Osugban mountains, unearthing the ancient construct and allowing it to be rediscovered by the Steelhand Clan. The Clan was facing perilous times, currently in the throws of Realm War II, when many of Quelmar's greatest cities and domains went to war against each other. It took 4 years for the Clan to figure out the right incantations and prayers to control the titan.

Hoping to save themselves and destroy their enemies, the dwarven clan deployed the Steelhand Colossus against mortal armies, flattening entire legions in a single blow and destroying towns under their crushing stride. For two years after 877 PR, it was sent to wander the region of Osugbo controlled by the city of Dolmvay, destroying anything in its path. In 881 PR, the city of Elin Barad was struggling to combat the World Breaker Plague which had begun to spread within their city. Seeing an opportunity to snuff out their rival for good, the dwarves of the Steelhand Clan sent the colossus into the city, with orders to flatten Elin Barad until there was nothing left.

But in 883 PR, the dwarves of the clan were forced to retreat into the deep caverns of Steelhand Hall as the World Breaker Plague threatened to wipe them out for good. Without any masters to give it commands, the Steelhand Colossus would be left to aimlessly roam Osugbo. The construct would travel from coast to coast again and again, killing any dragon in its path and unknowingly destroying anyone and anything in its way.

Languages[edit | edit source]

The Steelhand Colossus understands Dwarven but cannot speak.

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

The Steelhand Colossus has immense strength and power gifted to it by the Dwarven God Moradin. It had the power to combat dragons and its adamantine armor allows it to shrug off even the great blows. From its eyes it also has the ability to emit an obliterating beam of blue holy fire.
