Choeru are a beastfolk race resembling capybaras. Their evolutionary origin is unknown, though some preeminent therio-anthropologists believe they may share a common ancestor with Tanuki.
Physical Description
Choeru are short and stout when compared humans and other theriomorphic races. Typical heights range from 3.5 to 5.5 feet and typical weights, though more variable than heights, tend to be between 75 and 200 pounds. Their bodies are covered in short, coarse hairs, usually in tawny shades. Albinism, melanism, and vitiligo have all been observed, though they are unusual conditions. Common eye colors include shades of brown, orange, gold, green, and black. Blue, silver, and red eyes are seen rarely. Modern choeru have softer cartilage than their ancestors - now, about 20% of the choeru population has ears that flop over.
The average life expectancy of a choeru is 80 years. Multiple births up to quadruplets are common.
