The Sorcyst Blade is a magical longsword which teleported any creatures impaled upon it.
About
The Sorcyst Blade was actually the full name of the weapon, which contained two weapons—a longsword, and a dagger. The two were attuned, and when a specific sigil was carved into the ground with the dagger, that would become the teleportation destination point for anyone stabbed with the larger of the weapons. To anyone not privy to the blade's true function, however, the blade would appear to have obliterated any target that it stabbed.
History
The Sorcyst Blade was stolen from the archives where it sat in the City of Galik by unnamed thieves sometime around 450 PR. When the blade was tracked down and brought back to the city by Golkont the Hawk Mage, the city rewarded Golkont by allowing him temporary ownership of the blade. Though other rumors said that Golkont stole the blade rather than turn it over.
Golkont had keyed the blade to the horde of Tenorixion, a collector of magical items and weapons. Tenorixion and Golkont had arranged an agreement where he would teach Golkont information about the old world in exchange for powerful magic items.
The heroes of Ancients Alive came into possession of the blade shortly after the sinking of The Ellipses by Golkont's majordomo Kugutsi. Throughout the Arctic Autumn, they stowed the blade in their linked Handshaking Haversacks and re-keyed it to their new headquarters so that their team could quickly regroup during their realm-wide search for The Paladin. During one of these expeditions, Maverick and Edna traumatized a group of heroes from Fantasial Freeze as they watched in horror as Maverick stabbed his son Nim—seemingly obliterating the child, to those not in the know about the blade.
Upon discovering The Paladin's secret resting spot, they re-keyed the blade again to a secure cave in Amusa as part of their preparations for the Arctic Altercation—during which they used the blade to teleport and ambush The Paladin, at last defeating him. After finally saving the realm, the heroes re-keyed the blade a final time to a room in The Edesian so that they could always easily visit with one another.
