Vezoth the Undying Rime is a massive white spectral dragon and loyal servant to the Dragon Queen Tiamat. Over the centuries Vezoth was repeatdely killed and resurrected, turning him into a vengeful specter that now haunts the Snowblood Peaks on the frozen continent of Breme. Vezoth was the youngest of The Ten Heralds of Tiamat, ten dragons who emerged in Quelmar and heralded the arrival of Tiamat and the coming of The War of Many Names.

Personality

While not very intelligent, and regarded by many as hardheaded, no one can argue that there is a dragon with more determination or unwillingness to let go than Vezoth. Without these traits he would have been unable to return to the realm over and over again. He is brutish in his tactics, always preferring a straightforward and direct approach in his battles, abhorring the use of magic or trickery. While on the hunt, he will stalk his prey through the mountain regions of his lair and make use of his incorporeal form to surprise his victims through solid objects. He makes a note of always targeting the strongest combatant in battle first to demonstrate his dominance as a hunter and a warrior.

Like moths to a flame, evil spiritual undead flock to Vezoth’s realm to serve him. If Vezoth had the mind of it, he could easily gather one of the greatest undead armies Quelmar has ever seen. But as short sighted as he is, such a possibility is highly unlikely if he is left to do so on his own. He is content to continue hunting lesser creatures for his own pleasures, his aspirations rarely leaving the barriers of the Snowblood Peaks.

Knowing that he can easily return again, Vezoth fights with a level of carelessness without worry for his own safety. This makes him both a great threat on the battlefield as he will ignore many common tactics and take unexpectedly direct attacks, while also serving as his great weakness as he leaves himself open to other dangerous threats.

History

Vezoth was one of the Ten Heralds of Tiamat and was the last of his siblings to emerge in Quelmar after dragonkind had been banished for hundreds of years. While ambitious in his youth, Vezoth was content to hide away until he would grow strong enough to join in the crusade of the Dragon Queen. But not soon after his arrival in Quelmar, his was discovered lairing in an ancient dwarven vault known as The Stonefist and was slain by the adventurers Kragnux and Reesec.

As the War of Many Names continued, infernal cultists and magical artifacts would resurrect Vezoth time and time again, wearing away his body until he was nothing but a spirit. His first resurrection was brought about by an infernal Tiefling Cultist named Rothburn Forth V. But not soon after his resurrection would be discovered and Vezoth would be slain once again. To prevent another resurrection, Vezoth's killers bound his soul to a wagon. Vezoth remained like this until the wagon was destroyed and his spirit was instead placed inside a relic known as the Soul Star, a magical artifact that captured souls. Years later in 825 PR, Vezoth's spirit would be freed from the Soul Star, his ghost appearing in the city of Zobeck, the same location his brother Ith, another Herald of Tiamat, had been slain years before.

After rampaging around Zobeck, Vezoth's spirit was forced to flee when the city's mages attempted to bind him once more. Vezoth traveled to the icy continent of Breme, far to the north of the world. Eventually he would settle in a range out mountains called the Snowblood Peaks where he would make his lair. Here Vezoth would begin to explore his undead nature by preying on the local population and established a small base of minions and servants in the mountains by forcing all of the local mountain spirits into subservience. He would send his servants far and wide throughout the realm to capture many of the strongest beasts and warriors. Vezoth would imprison them beneath the mountains, only to free and hunt them at his own pleasure. Vezoth continues to search for the next great hunt, and continues to rule from his spectral throne. Even in this state though, the Dragon Queen will send Vezoth on missions across the realm where no other dragon can go in order to wreak havoc and destruction.
