The Saga of Old Alkinimic was a mini story arc in Book 1 of Within the Wicked Wilds, involving the players discovery and slaying of the aberrant mimic dragon, Old Alkinimic. This story was part of the larger saga, The Saga of Kavanmort.
Summery
[[Old Alkinimic was an old and elderly red dragon who once served as a thrall to the two-headed dragon, Kavanmort during the Holy War. After The War of Many Names began, it returned to Amusa and laired in a mountain in the western Amusan wilds where it cultivated a small clan of loyal kobolds. But ater many years Old Alkinimic's age finally caught up to it and it died. But after its death, its body was mutated into a mimic-like monstrosity by an artifact called The Philosopher's Stone.
Learning of Old Alkinimic's death and believing that the dragon's hoard was free for the taking, many adventurers came to Old Alkinimc's lair in seek of treasure, including members of the Tempest Brothers Expeditionary Company. The explorers would find the mountain infested with mimic and mutated kobolds, discovering the abomination dragon in its depths before retreating.
Old Alkinimic began sending out his mimic thralls into the Amusan wilds in hopes to spread his influence. But it was eventually stopped when members of the Tempest Brother's Expeditionary Company returned and slew Old Alkinimc, ending the abomination threat.
