The Taurus Binding was created in the early PR age of Quelmar. No one knows where it was created or how, but the working theory is that a high-ranking devil struck a bargain with a wizard in need of a servant. It is, without question, a ritual of severe power and consequence, and is performed predominantly by wizards who lack empathy. The story goes that the first being to be subjugated by the Binding was Klawnch, an orc warrior of great esteem. The wizard who cast the Binding upon Klawnch was unaware of the power of the Tribe of Boar and Spear. They chased Klawnch's scent to the wizard's tower, and nearly interrupted the ritual. Two orc javelins pierced the caster's heart as he muttered the final syllables, leading to a bloody brawl between the subjugated Klawnch and the friends who killed his "true master". The recipe was ripped to bits in the brawl and presumed to be lost, but a few years later the scraps of the ritual resurfaced in the ArchCrystal Tower and were accessible to wizards residing in Galik. There are few recorded cases of its use, but it is considered a master-level ritual and its use is strictly prohibited, with several notable censures occurring in written dialogue between colleagues at Galick Arcane University.

The Taurus Binding is a powerful magical ritual that is used to enslave entities of varying levels of strength and bind them to the caster's will. A ritual circle is constructed around the being in question - most often humanoid, but animals or monsters with intelligence are also possible. A piece of the caster's blood or flesh is used as a casting component, along with a dragon scale, demonic ichor, and a rope made from sphinx hair. When successfully cast, the Taurus Binding places several permanent enchantments upon the recipient:

1. Great love - the new minion or slave is implanted with a love for the caster, and a desire to see their wishes come true.

2. Memory Loss/Unknown Identity - Any pertinent information that counteracts the caster's desires is wiped from the minion's mind. The caster can affect this to some degree by planting fake memories in their stead,or encouraging their minion to remember past people and events differently.

3. Enhanced Strength - Most wizards cruel enough to make use of the Binding need their minions to endure beyond that of their species. Benefits are included depending on what ingredients are used in the ritual beyond those listed above. Subjugated minions have been known to not need sleep, have increased logical reasoning, and stamina to run for days, among other things.

There are few recorded cases of its use, but it is considered a master-level ritual and its use is strictly prohibited, with several notable censures occurring in written dialogue between colleagues at Galik Arcane University.
