The Overmind was an experimental Mind Flayer experiment that consisted of multiple humanoid brains connected in unison. They were used to control the Mind Flayer ship that was buried beneath Wyvern's Roost.
History[edit | edit source]
The Overmind was an experiment created by Mind Flayer scientists designed to control a new planar traveling Mind Flayer vessel. But soon after it was deployed, the Overmind turned on its masters, trapping them in stasis that rotted their flesh and crashed the ship into Eastern Amusa, creating Wyvern's Roost crater.
The crash damaged the Overmind's system and it was unable to continue to operate unless it had a host vessel. In 822 PR this vessel came in he form of Aloysius Tempest who offered themselves to the Overmind in order to trap the two-headed dragon Kavanmort within the ship. Over the next few decades the Overmind's presence would drive Aloysius insane and the Overmind's directive became trapping any an all creatures who entered the ship.
The Overmind came to blows with The Tempest Brothers Expeditionary Company when they attempted to explore the ship. After attempting to freeze them in stasis failed, the Overmind resorted to freeing monsters it had trapped. The Overmind would be destroyed along with the ship when the ship was torn apart by an unstable planar rift.
