Davin Dunefoot is a Halfling Ranger (Bounty Hunter)

Physical Appearance

As one of the desert-dwelling Davin stands just over three feet tall, with a lean, wiry build shaped by years of surviving in the harsh sun and shifting sands. His skin is sun-kissed, a warm bronze tone that blends naturally with the desert terrain. From his Freckle-dotted face his sharp eyes gleam amber, reflecting the sunlight with a mischievous spark.

His hair is dark and curly, sometimes openly some of the times tied back with strips of cloth with a braid with beads made from sun-bleached bone. A light scarf and hood usually covers his head to shield him from the sun, and his clothing is loose-fitting and layered—earth-toned robes or tunics.

His feet are tough and calloused, wrapped in simple leather sandals, allowing for swift and silent movement across dunes and rocky paths. Small pouches and satchels hang from his belt, filled with desert herbs, tools, and trinkets. A neklace made from a big tooth adorns his kneck as does a strangely organic Cloak around his shoulders.

Despite his small size, he carries himselve with confidence, always alert, always ready to vanish into the sands or dart into the shadows.

In his hands he he wields his beautiful bow Maul-a-kesh (the Banebringer) build by his father, on his back a spear tipped with a petrified Bone of a long dead desert beast and on his hip his dagger.

Personality

Davin might not be huge of statue but as the deserts people like to say - the steady wind hollows the stone and only decisive changes may split the largest stones.

"If you put bone of slain beast on top of sand spiral bare bevor full moon and sing guidichar hajra one may become the malak al-mut." Saying of the desert people

His tribe may be gone, but their teachings live in him. He embodies their values, their warnings, and their wisdom: “The desert neither forgives nor forgets.”. Hardened by his loss and the unforgiving desert, Davin is pragmatic and resourceful. Davin is rather reserved and rarely speaks of his past or emotions. His silence is not emptiness—it’s weight. He carries grief like a cloak. Mayhaps there is salvation in slaying the beasts? He is driven by this purpose - walking a fine line between veangence and justice. His actions are fueled by a deep sense of duty and remembrance. He hunts not for glory, but to honor the memory of his lost tribe and to ensure no one else suffers as he did.

His trophies are not just spoils—they are sacred. Each one is a step in a personal journey of strength and remembrance of a dead payed back.

History

Davin is the last of his tribe - last of his people. So that they will not be forgotten Davin has set out to slay the beasts that are, his knowledge, responsible. He found the beasts and made sure that they could never harm anyone again. Yet, something shattered that night. The vengeance could not fill the void.

Since then Davin sells his bow for a good pay or a bed and a good stew to everyone who needs a beast slain or is in search for the strongest monsters relentlessly widdeling them down taking trophies. Trophies that make him stronger.

His story so far:

Davin crouched atop a sandstone ridge, the wind tugging at his scarf as he watched the caravan below. A merchant had hired him to clear the path of a sand wyrm rumored to stalk the dunes. The beast was real—he’d seen its tracks, felt its breath in the night—but Davin didn’t fear it. He welcomed the hunt.

The bow at his back was worn, its grip wrapped in the faded cloth of his tribe’s banner. Each arrow he carried bore a mark—some etched with symbols of beasts he’d slain, others with names of those he’d lost. He didn’t speak of them. He didn’t need to.

When the wyrm rose from the sand, Davin moved like a shadow—silent, precise, relentless. The battle was brutal, but Davin did not falter. When the dust settled, he stood over the creature’s corpse, carving a scale from its hide. Another trophy. Another memory.

That night, by the fire, the merchant offered him gold. Davin took only enough for food and a place to sleep. The rest he left behind. He stared into the flames, eyes reflecting a storm that never passed.

Shortly after Davin came back he was hired by Swordmaster Krispin to support Tradesman Kareek.
