He was a capable leader and good to his people. Akiba was known to be a master tactician, and used his skill to unify his warriors to protect his coasts. Strategy was known to be so beloved a topic for Akiba that visiting kings from other lands would have to bring a suitable retinue to play full-size games of chess in the citadel courtyards. His dedication to the art led to record lows of marauders and pirates on the eastern Ocean during his reign.
History regards Akiba's rulership as one of stability and peace, despite Quelmar's many trials. The Arctic Autumn, most notably, did not disrupt East Levinkan as it did other lands. Years beforehand, the Mystics' Council were alerted to a scrap of prophecy foretelling of a coming Freeze. Despite political skepticism towards divination magic, Akiba insisted food stores were prepared, and the gnomes were grateful to have a full year's worth of food set aside when the Freeze took hold over the ocean. Levinkan was as such unaffected by wendigo, as the people did not grow desperate enough to cannibalize each other.
